Sub Sea to Summit Logo and Poster
August 2018
I had an incredible honor to design a poster and logo for a Historical Diving Society fundraiser in Scotland. I was contacted by Ginge Fullen, a British Navy Clearance Diver, world class mountaineer and holder of two Guinness World Records (check him out!) through a mutual friend to be apart of this project.
The fundraiser, Sub Sea to Summit, consisted of a team of expeditioners from all over the world in standard, 1850’s British diving equipment (weighing 178 lbs). Their expedition started 16 ft underwater and concluded 4,413 ft above at the summit of Ben Nevis.
University of Cincinnati College of Medicine
Spring 2018
As a graphic design intern for the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine’s Admission Team, I was responsible for assisting with a variety of projects for several different programs and events. My main duties consisted of working on signage, email templates, handouts, Snapchat filters and a t-shirt design for their Second Look Day. In addition, I worked on graphics for a look-book publication, logos, website material and other as needed projects.
Goosedown Gazette
Fall 2017
Spring 2018
I was chosen to be the sole designer and editor for two editions of the University Mountaineering Club’s GooseDown Gazettes. The Gazette is an online publication that features articles, photographs and experiences from its members.
The Mountaineering Club gives students the opportunity to become involved and confident in the outdoors community. I participated in this club throughout college and it allowed me to form some strong and exciting friendships while pushing my boundaries.
Expedition to Agrihan Logo
Spring 2018
Gary Reckelhoff, an honorary member of the University of Cincinnati Mountaineering Club, and friend of mine, is on a mission to lead a trip to reach the highest point of all 50 states, the 5 island territories and Washington D.C. He was apart of a 12 person, international team to be the first to summit of his least populated territory, Agrihan of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Gary brought me on the team to serve as their branding manager and graphic designer. Together we collaborated to design the logo was worn by the team during their ascent. Additionally, it was printed on decal stickers, steins and coasters for their sponsors.
This design was especially important for the team members and Northern Mariana Island natives because it was the first time there was graphic documentation of this island.
Field Guide to Color
Spring 2016
My Critical Visions Certificate Capstone course explored topics with critical thinking, social analysis, art and design. I took the capstone course Spring semester of my sophomore year to publish the third edition of CVSN. My class decided on the topic of color, formatted as a contemporary field guide. My essay explored how we document reality and how that reality can be manipulated and enhanced through photo editing to set up certain expectations.
In addition, I was a part of the design team that worked together to create the overall aesthetic and layout for the publication. This encompassed color scheme, cover design, font choices, etc.
While most of my education provided real world experiences, this class was more of a full time job. I learned how to collaborate with people very differently than myself, working hours into the night to create something we were all passionate about.
